What I Wore Wednesday - Mismatched

What happens when your 18-month old is up most of the night crying, thanks to those pesky vampire teeth coming in? (Side note, yes, I call those little pointy teeth next to the first four teeth vampire teeth. I guess they're supposed to be eye teeth, but "vampire teeth" makes so much more sense. Right?) Anyways, back to what happens when this mom is sleep deprived. I throw on a purple tank top under my tan tunic.  Then on my way out the door, I think to myself, "These new red boots will look fab with my tan tunic!!" And . . . I totally forget that I'm wearing a purple tank top.  So, this is what you get.

Tunic: Target ($18)
Jeans: Eddie Bauer Outlet ($10)
Tank: Express ($10)
Boots: Rue 21 ($30)
Bracelets & Watch: My Sister's =)

Yes, it totally clashes, but whatevs. At least I got the chance to wear these new boots. Funny story about these boots. My sister came home Sunday night and said, "Tiff!! Rue 21 has the cutest red boots that will look so good with your brown leggings!" So, of course, during my lunch break on Monday, I ran over there and bought them. But . . . they were having a BOGO 1/2 off sale. So, I had to get another pair too... Which you'll see tomorrow.

And in case you're wondering, yeah, I've totally jumped ship on the shopping ban. I tried. I did so good the first 60-ish days. And then it all came crashing down this last month. Oh, well, 60-ish days without shopping is pretty good, too. =)

But really... red boots? Every girl needs a pair of red boots, right? Right?? ;)

You poor thing! That teething thing is the worst. For you, and your little one. Miss M lost her first tooth last week!

Purple and red actually look really cute together, so you look adorable. What an awesome pair of red boots.

Eewww teething! How I feel your pain in my memory bank:( Those nights were so hard and trying when you want to take the pain away so badly and can't:(

LOVE the red boots with this outfit. I love mixing up colors though. I think it makes the outfit so much more personal.

As far as the shopping ban, pat yourself on the back. That is fantastic! I have fallen off my ban as well but with the holidays and sales it is to difficult, right?:)

They both have the same tone (I know I'm using the wrong word - I haven't been in the design industry long enough to distinguish them) so I like the colours together. Maybe it's because it's a blue red and a blue purple? I don't know... I think you accidentally stumbled upon a new colour combination to try more often!

I'm actually loving the red + purple combo. Sometimes the more effortless looks I wear end up being the best! I think the same happened here for you!

I think you look great, especially since you didn't get rest! I am usually not a fan of purple and red but I really like this look. You are absolutely correct, every girl needs a pair of red boots :)
