I finally got myself something sparkly! And I ended up wearing it during the day because . . . well, I never go anywhere after dark. That's when the kids are in bed and we actually have a bit of peace and quiet in the house. =)

So, basically, what I'm saying is, if you don't have kids, enjoy your social life. Because once they come along it all changes.
And if I'm being honest, these changes? They're really nice. Instead of quiet romantic evenings with your guy, you get hide-and-seek until bath time. Instead of candlelit dinners, you get chatty little toddlers telling you about their day. Instead of loud, chaotic, late nights out with friends, you get a few peaceful moments after the kids have gone to bed.
And you know what? You love the craziness that kidlets bring to the house. And you really learn to appreciate those quiet moments with your husband because they just don't happen as often as they used to.
Now on to the tasty part of this Tuesday... =)
No Fuss Cookie Bars in a Jar
The Hubs' mom and sister gave us this cute little jar of cookie bar mix for Christmas.
Personally, I wanted to make it weeks ago, but we started our diet and the Hubs convinced me to hold off . . . until this weekend. He ran a 1/2 marathon Saturday morning and we had playoff games in the afternoon, so I thought we needed something sweet to celebrate. These cookie bars ended up being so delicious that I had to look up the recipe to share it with y'all!
In the jar:
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 cup flaked coconut
1/2 cup walnuts (coarsely chopped)
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (The inlaws added red & green m&ms, which I thought was a cute, festive touch!)
1 can sweetened condensed milk
Preheat oven to 350. Mix everything in a large bowl. Spread it into a greased 13x9 inch pan. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
I added cool whip and it was perfection!!
I'm linking up today with the lovely ladies at Monday Mingle! =)

I'm such a homebody I think I'd be great at the family thing. Not that I want to try it out anytime soon.
Those bars look tasty...I always think of doing something fun like that for Xmas presents but never do.
Lovely outfit, Tiffany! I love the touch of sparkle on a casual day. I am always so inspired by you, because even if you are a mother with little ones you take care of - you always look so put together and chic. I hope I can manage the same thing after I have my own family.

I know what you mean. I never smiled so much in my life as I have with my kids around. But I do miss going out sometimes.

Sometimes I miss having a social life, but then think, what is life without the kids?
Love the sparkles under the cardi!!
I feel exactly the same. Kids completely changed my life...but mostly for the better, even though I do miss my carefree life from before.
