Mellow Yellow

Have you been craving a bit of sunshine in your life? I know I have, and the Florida weather is finally obliging!  But if you're stuck somewhere with dreary weather, get yourself a pair of yellow pants and watch them light up your life. If they don't convince Mother Nature to bring you warm weather, at least you'll be greeting by a cheery color every time you look in the mirror!

A reader recently asked me what she should wear with a pair of brand new Ann Taylor Loft yellow cotton pants that she thrifted for only $3.00!! ($3.00, people! What a deal!)  After I recovered from a moment of jealousy, my creative juices got to flowing with endless possibilities.  Of course, I dashed over to polyvore, just as quickly as I could to create a few looks!

My first look has a nautical vibe and is anchored by the tan accessories.  Really, you could pair any color striped top and end up with a gorgeous look!  I could see stripes of fuschia, red, pink, black, turquoise... Any number of colors would really look amazing with these fabulous yellow pants!

Navy Stripes

My second look incorporates another trend that is staying with us for spring, which is colorblocking! This look is not for the faint of heart, as it includes bright colors that will get you noticed! =)  I think these pants would be super cute paired with lime green (envision lemons and limes).  Or with cobalt blue.  Or with turquoise.  If I owned a pair of pants in this shade, I'd probably treat it as a neutral.  You know what? I think I really need to get myself a pair of bright yellow pants! Thank you, Allie, for my latest mission! =)

I would definitely have the pieces to put #1 together, but would secretly (or not so since I am outing myself right now) envy the girl in #2. Cute stuff!

Both looks are delightful! I would probably be more inclined to wear the first, but I'm officially pining for some sun...

I am loving both looks! The colour blocking is perfect for those who get to bask in the sun...and the navy striped top is perfect for those of us in the windy city subject to a great tease from mother nature. Tiff it was 50 and 60 the last two days...tmrw...42 :(

I really like these inspiration boards you put together. The colors are so bright and cheery and I absolutely adore the yellow jeans. Polyvore looks like a lot of fun. Wish I have more time to explore it.

I like the second look best! I like the color pallet and stars so I am swooning. However, I might also venture to add a grass green belt because I love "citrus" themed outfits (lemon/lime/grapefruit/orange)... I rarely have the pieces to put them together, but if you go bright, go big!
