Run, baby, run!

Are you a runner? For about the past year or so, I've dabbled in running. When your husband is an Ironman, it's hard to feel excited about having run a 5k in thirty three minutes. ;)  Despite that, I'm buckling down and getting serious, y'all!  I've committed myself to running a 1/2 marathon later this year and I have begun some training that will gradually get me from barely huffing and puffing out two miles to running 13.1 miles with ease.  Okay, maybe not with ease, but I should at least be able to finish! =)

Green skirt: Old Navy, thrifted ($4)
Mustard tank: Target ($10)
Chambray Shirt: Gap, thrifted ($4)
Sandals: A Boutique in New Orleans ($10)

You know what I notice about running?  It's so incredibly difficult to get up when my alarm goes off at 5:00 a.m.!! But if I can just make myself get out of bed, I never regret it.  I feel so accomplished after running first thing in the morning.

And as an added bonus, getting up so early allows me to have quality quiet time with my Bible, which is the best way to start my day! =)

So, do y'all have any tips for running a 1/2 marathon?

I'm linking up today with The Pleated Poppy and Transatlantic Blonde!

I love running! Running my first 10K in less than 2 weeks. I've considred a half marathon but training seems daunting w/ a 2 year old who demands Momma's time 24/7, so we'll see.. Someday :) A good playlist is my only running tip, oh and love the green skirt!

That's so excited to have started running! And to be able to run a 5K in 33 minutes is huge! Well, I know it is for me... :-)

Good luck with your training! That's so exciting! Is the hubby excited, too?

Good for you! I agree, if I can make myself get up early, I never regret it! Love your thrifty finds!

Running is wonderful! Though I never have the time I'd like ti. I've always try to motivate myself to get up for early runs, but it just never happens. I'm so glad that it works for some people though. I might have to try again sometime.

Anyway, really adore this outfit, Tiffany! The green skirt is perfect for spring. And I love how you tied the chambray shirt over the top - it's such a casual and fun touch. Lovely outfit!

Of course I want your skirt :)

Running always feels good to me after the first five minutes and then afterwards. It's just getting started that hurts :P

That's so cool! I envy runners but it's just not my sport. A 1/2 marathon is an amazing goal.

I like the denim and green. Very pretty!

I used to run in undergrad but I was starting to feel the pain in my knees so I had to stop. Good luck with the 1/2 marathon training and love that skirt!

Good for you! I'm not a runner, but I totally support runners and other athletes. For example, I love the Olympics. So. Yeah.

i'm an AVID morning runner and it's the best way to go in my opinion... after a quick run i don't even need a cup of coffee to wake me up! (but, i'm also naturally a morning person anyway...)

the first time i did a half marathon, i remember by mile 12 i was DYING but i did finish. a few months later i did another half and felt great so don't give up! :)

Love your green skirt...I'm beginning to "dabble" in running as well; though I think my first commitment is going to be a 5K, haha. Good luck in your training!

Sorry, I can't help you--the only way I'm running is if someone's chasing after me with some sort of weapon! But that's awesome to have a goal to work toward, I know you can do it! And you look adorable in that green skirt by the way!

I was over ambitious last year and signed up for the 10K which was ridiculous because I hate running...so I ended up selling my race bib. I'm a climate controlled, group exercise gym gal but really respect runners- you go girl! LOVE this outfit- yellow, green and blue are such great colours. Happy Easter Tiffany!

In Valencia we have a few popular marathons through out the year where everybody can participate and everybody receives a prize: usually oranges and a T-shirt.

I only run if I'm being chased so no help there! Love the green skirt though :)

I'm doing my first half marathon this year too! And yes it is so hard to wake up early to run, but it feels so nice. I'm impressed you wake up at 5 - way to go!

I need to find the motivation you have. I am not much of a morning person! I ran a few 5ks last year and that was tough enough. Good luck with the half-marathon training :) You look so cute - love that flirty green skirt!

Oh, wow...that's such a great goal! I got into running after Brigid was born, and I got up to the 5K level, before the early morning runs lost out to more sleep. Which is too bad, really, because I was enjoying it. Maybe I can follow your training progress, and it will kick me back into the swing of things :)

That is awesome! Good luck with your training. I am not a runner (due to back issues) but I have been walking three times a week and plan on walking my first 5K next weekend.
