Magic Lips

Yesterday morning, my Little Guy saw me put bright lipstick on for the first time.  We were stopped at a red light and I pulled out my super bright pink lip stain and swiped it over my incredibly pale lips.

Shirt, Tank & Wedges: Target
Skirt: Thrifted

My Little Guy said, "Momma!! Your lips just changed color! Are they magic?"

And I thought, "Yep, I've got magic lips." Kind of like this magical shirt I'm wearing.  It has the ability to make you appear incredibly flattering from one angle. Then you blink your eyes and twist a bit and it's not a bit flattering.

Of course, it could be the skirt. I typically don't pair baggy on top with baggy on bottom.  Even though the outfit had unflattering moments, I still really liked the way it turned out. It was comfortable and I loved the colors together!

I'm like a walking advertisement for Target today. ;)

Have you ever worn something that had unflattering moments, but you like it anyways?

The Blues & Bright Lips

If you're a frequent reader of my little blog, then you can probably guess which jeans I'm wearing today... Yep, my turquiose jeans! =)  I've been wearing them about once a week. Maybe it's time to get myself another pair of colored jeans to throw into the rotation.

Turquoise Jeans & Ruffled Tank: NY&Co
Sweater: Old Navy
Heels: rsvp, www.6pm.com

My Little Guy (he's four, but has excellent taste in style!) has been trying to get me to wear this tank with these jeans for a few weeks now.  I can't wear the tank by itself to work, so I had been putting him off. Every time I wore these jeans with a different top, he was all disappointed that I didn't go with his choice.  So, when I pulled out these jeans again yesterday morning, I was determined to find something to wear over the tank that would make it work for teaching and the office!

And it just so happened that the day before wearing this little outfit, I happened to read a post by Marionberry Style about monochromatic styling. She had put together a cute little outfit in shades of pink, and it made me realize that my Little Guy knew what he was talking about when he put together this one in shades of blue.

My Little Guy was so happy when he saw what I was wearing and suggested that I wear a sweater, rather than a jacket.  When we found the tan cap sleeve sweater, he gave me the thumbs up and said that I looked "so very pretty."

I also decided to take it up a notch and wear bright lipstick for the first time in about two years.  I don't know what got into me, but I was full of all kinds of sass yesterday. ;)

I hope you all have a beautiful weekend!
