I'm still not shopping!

Can y'all believe it? I'm 24 days into the 100 Day Stretch and I have not caved once. I really have been too terribly tempted.  I am starting to get an itch to go thrifting, but other than that, I'm doing okay.  You know what's crazy? I haven't even done much shopping for the kids. Yesterday, the Hubs was doing the money stuff and he said, "Wow, we kind of have more money than usual for this time of the month." And I'm totally crediting myself for that. Or Misty, since she's the one who came up with this whole Retail Detox thing in the first place. =)

Also, I'm still Blogging for Breast Cancer Awearness and trying to wear pink all month.  Even when I'm not photographing my outfits, I'm trying to wear something pink.  Although I have not been directly affected by breast cancer, I know people who have been.

Dress: Maurices ($10)
Belt, came with a Shirt: Thrifted ($2)
Shoes: 6pm.com ($6.95)
Bracelet & Necklace: Borrowed from My Sister

Well, I hope you're all starting your week out right! Life is good and crazy right now. I'm going back to school for the first time in years and years. The Hubs has his 1/2 Ironman next weekend. I'm trying (and kind of failing) to eat healthy and run on a regular basis. We're enjoying the nice weather and taking the kids to all kinds of fun fall festivities. The kids are growing!! That actually makes me a little bit sad. But all that being said, I'm enjoying every minute of right now.  Yesterday, the Hubs and I were sitting in our very messy playroom watching the kids have fun and we started reminiscing about the days before we had kids when lazy Sunday afternoons literally meant sitting on the couch with a movie or a book and not moving for hours. And then we started reminiscing about the days right after we had Little Guy and he was so tiny and now he's 3 1/2 and literally a KID. Anyways, we came to the conclusion that time passes by so quickly. And one day, we'll be looking back at this time and thinking about how great it was and how much we miss the crazy antics of the kids. It's just really important to enjoy the here and now and not get caught up in what's coming next month or next year.  Hmmm... it seems like  foregoing shopping is causing me to get kinda deep. =)

So, I want to know, what are you enjoying about this stage of your life??

Pink & Purple Make the World Go Round

If you ask Little Guy what my favorite color is, he knows! Pink and Purple. Really, if there were more of it, I think the world would be a happier place. It's the color of butterflies and flowers and rainbows and sunsets. Yes, indeed pink and purple are happy colors.

 Sweater: Maurices
Pants: Old Navy
Shoes: Rsvp from 6pm.com (Birthday present, thanks mom!)
Belt: Bealls (Birthday present!)

Okay, I love these shoes. They're purple. They're sparkly. They super high and make my legs feel like they're more than little tiny stumps. I love them. But I think I might have looked a little ridiculous this morning. I almost fell and/or twisted my ankle about five times this morning. Once while chasing Little Miss through the yard.  The one morning she decides she doesn't want to walk directly to the car and I'm wearing heels that are the size of the Eiffel Tower! Once while walking into the daycare, holding Little Miss so that she couldn't attempt another runaway. And three times while making my way through the garden to this water fountain (it's not all nicely paved like it is right here). Have you ever tried walking through dirt/grass in super skinny high heels? Eesh, it's a feat!

Isn't this belt great? I love it!

Aaah, these fabulous shoes! ;)

I hope you're all having a really great week! I'd like to apologize for being kind of MIA lately. My life has been crazy busy, but I'm going to try to set aside some time later this week to visit all of your lovely blogs and return all of these lovely comments! I appreciate y'all taking the time to read and comment soooo much! Even when I can't reply right away, just know that you're making me smile! =)

Ten Things Tuesday - Pink & Gray

Here are a few totally random and completely unrelated things on my mind at the moment...

1.  It's October, it's OCTOBER, y'all!  Is it crazy how fast the time is zipping past? Or does it just seem that way to me??

2.  As I sit here on the laptop and blog, the Hubs is watching a Clint Eastwood movie on the tv and Little Guy is playing Angry Birds on the Ipad. And at this moment, I'm realizing that we are entirely too dependent upon technology.

3.  I kinda like technology.

4.  For the millionth time, I'm starting 30 Day Shred tonight.  I'm making a commitment to do it every single day for the next 30 days.  Right now, the only thing "shredded" around me is the cheese, but I'm looking forward to the minute when my body is "shredded" too. =)

5.  And then it probably will only be shredded for about a minute, until I start eating all the holiday food that November and December brings!

6.  Little Guy and Little Miss are going to be Gnomeo and Juliet for Halloween this year.  Last year, they were a fireman (Little Guy) and fire (Little Miss in a red, yellow and orange tutu and a matching bow).  I think I'll be doing these themed costumes for as long as they let me!

7.  I am so incredibly thankful for the peace that knowing Christ can bring. When life has me confused or stressed, I know that I can turn to Him and he'll calm the storm and give me such an amazing peace.

8.  I made my first pot of chili of the fall season this weekend!!

9.  We went to the fire station for an open house on Saturday and Little Guy is quite obsessed with being a fireman. All day, he ran around the house chopping fires with his axe and then spraying them with a rope (his hose).

10.  Bloggers are joining together this month and blogging for breast cancer awareness.  If you want to see other bloggers who are participating, go to A Working Mom's Closet.  I don't have much pink in my wardrobe, but I'll be trying to incorporate as much of it as I can into my outfits!

Dress & Tights: Maurices
Cardi: Target
Belt: Thrifted
Shoes: 6pm.com

I really did iron the dress this morning. But this is one of those dresses that wrinkles as soon as you sit down in it!

Oh! And I almost forgot... I'm linking up today at the Monday Mingle with BonBon Rose Girls!
