The other night, I decided it was high time for Nate & I to have ourselves a "date night". Date night usually can mean anything from watching part of movie together on the couch to the occasional getting of a sitter and going "out". This time I decided to make some yummy snacks that we could eat while we played a game or two of scrabble. I love board games with my man. We're pretty competitive though. If we're not careful, we'll end up not speaking to each other before the night is out, so we usually have to set up some ground rules to keep it light hearted. Nate came up with the brilliant idea to use a timer and only allow 30 seconds to put out each word! Thirty seconds, people, is NOT a lot of time when playing scrabble. But it kept us from getting worked up and the silly words we came up with kept us laughing. =)
These cookies are the most delicious oatmeal cookies I've ever had! I could eat ten of them in one sitting. Oh wait, I think I did that. =) I'm all about improvising recipes and "Oatmeal Raisin Cookies" just doesn't sound as delicious as "Oatmeal Raisin Chocolate Chip Cookies," does it? You guessed it. I added chocolate chips. I'd say, just add as many or as few as you think looks perfect. =)
This dip that I got from Painting the Air was SO good. I mean, SO incredibly yummy. Of course, I like to try to make everything as easy as possible, so instead of using an Italian dressing mix, I just used Italian dressing that was in the fridge. Maybe it would have been even better if I had used the mix, but I don't know how. Absolutely, super delicious!! Thank you, Painting the Air for sharing that recipe!
A Bestie a/k/a Best Friend Since Almost Birth
My best bestie, Staci, and I have been friends since we were in diapers. On Easter Saturday, we took our kids to a big Easter Eggstravaganza (egg drop, pony rides, bouncy houses, petting zoo). It was HUGE and the kids loved it. We were able to snap a pic of the two of us to document the day.
I am wearing:
Shirt: Target
Green tank: Express
Shorts: Old Navy
Staci is wearing:
Shirt: Gift from her mom-in-law
Cropped pants: NY&Co
Shoes: I forgot to ask her. =)

It's always good to continue having light hearted date nights with your hubbie. (the yummy cookies don't hurt either)

One, you've officially made me hungry, and I've consequently had to raid the Easter candy jar to take the edge off. Two, my husband and I CAN NOT PLAY GAMES against each other. Ever. It is bad news. We are waaaaay too competitive.
And three, I wish my best friend wasn't all of the way in Seattle now! (Well, I always wish that, but especially right now...)
I'm drooling over these cookies. Seriously. I want to go to the store (i.e. send husband to the store) to get me some oatmeal (I like 'em with raisins) cookies right now! But it's after midnight. So...maybe I'll add those to my To Do list for tomorrow. ;)
Now, about this outfit....I've worn something nearly exactly like it! Instead of the top being blue/yellow/green plaid, mine was blue/red! And those shorts look great on you!
So glad you liked the dip! I'll have to try it with Italian dressing instead of mix! Good idea. :)
