Friend Friday - Summer Vacay!

It's Friday again! And with Friday comes another round of FBFF questions! This time it's about packing for summer vacations. I haven't taken a true summer vacation in a while, but we like to get away for a few extended weekends each summer and this is how it usually goes.

1.  When it comes to packing for vacation what’s your mantra?
I used to just throw a whole bunch of my cutest clothes into a suitcase and call it a day.  But since I've started blogging and I'm learning how to actually plan my outfits, I plan out one or two outfits for each day, with accessories and shoes. It made getting dressed while on my little getaway so much easier!

2.  What are your must packs?
Wait are we talking about just for me?  Or for me and the kids?  Because if we're talking me AND the kids, then the list will be like 5 pages long! But if its just me, then that's easy!  A swimsuit, sunscreen, a sundress or two, sandals, shorts & cute breezy tops. That about covers my summer vacay packing!

3.  What are you happy to leave behind?
Work and the dishes! Ha, actually, I usually don't wear a whole lot of makeup on vacation... especially if the majority of it will be spent on the beach.

4.  Any packing secrets that help you get everything into one suitcase?
Oh, I have no packing secrets whatsoever. Just ask my husband! I usually end up packing one suitcase for clothes, a bag for shoes, a bag for toiletries, and a bag for snacks. Wait, you don't take your own snacks?  What can I say? I love snacking on road trips!

5.  Beach reading… what are you taking with you to read in the sand?
When we went on our beach getaway a few weeks ago, I took Fallen.  It was really good! I like light, easy reads that you really don't have to think about when on vacation. Oh, and I recently finished Mini Shopaholic.  It was laugh out loud hilarious! I love Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic series.

I wore the following outfit yesterday:

Skirt & Top: Courtesy of My Sister =)
Belt: Thrifted
Bracelets & Wedges: Target

As much as I like flowy skirts, they do not like me! Inevitably, when I wear a skirt like this, a gust of wind tears into me and we come *this* close to a wardrobe malfunction. And you know the funny thing? It always seems to happen when I'm walking into Target.

lovely cheery skirt. The color and prints are so pretty. Next time the wind comes, just strike a MArilyn Monroe pose!
