I'm Hungry for Games! ;)

Thursday night, I joined a bunch of other ladies and saw Hunger Games. At midnight. I got a grand total of three hours of sleep before I had to wake up and chaperone my three-year old's field trip to the zoo! Crazy, right?  But it was so totally worth it.  I thoroughly enjoyed myself and had an amazing time!

On me: Tunic Top from Rue 21, Skinny Cargos from Target, Sparkly Gold Heels from Bealls
On Gracie-Lou: A Bunch of Cuteness, from I don't know where ;)

So, I've seen a few reviews here and there and heard a few opinions from people who didn't totally, 100% LOVE the movie.  But as for me?  I absolutely loved it.  As soon as it began, I got all wrapped up in it, like I was really there. I cried when Katniss said goodbye to Prim. I nearly screamed when that crazy dog jumped out at Katniss and Peeta. I cringed when Katniss started going for the tracker jacker's nest.  I cried when Rue died. I cheered (on the inside) when they bested the President and were both allowed to live.

The book followed the movie really closely.  The only discrepency I noticed had to do with where Katniss gets her mockingjay pin from. A few of the complaints were that they didn't really explain the story enough... and I get that.  If I hadn't read the books, I might not have been as caught up in the movie as I was.

You want to know what I'm next excited about?  There was a teaser preview for The Host.  I didn't even know they were turning that book into a movie! I really enjoyed the book and can't wait to see how the movie turns out!

Have you seen the movie yet or are you planning to?  What did you think about it?

I watched the Hunger Games yesterday, and I loved it. I thought they did a great job with the feeling of the book. Loved how District 12 basically looked like Depression-era America, right down to the clothes and how the Reaping sign-in was similar to Nazi Germany; it was a smart way to go, I think.

Was it exactly like the books? No, but if it had been, it probably would have been 6 hours long. And the feeling was right - I was totally stressed when they entered the arena and cried when Rue died too.

Great outfit. I heard they were turning The Host into a movie. I haven't read it yet, but I must hurry up and do so.

Have you seen this? Hee-sterical, I tell ya. It's like the rated G version of The Hunger Games.

I thought the movie was good but the book was definitely better. They also had the riot in District 11 in this book which didn't happen until their tour.

Overall, I was happy but didn't LOVE it like I did the book. I saw the preview for Snow White and the Huntsman and can't wait to see it!

I'm looking forward to the movie. I used this weekend to read the books. I've plans to see it this week, but I may sneak out and see it by myself tonight. I could use the break, haha!

I haven't read the book so I have NO idea what this is about. I've read nothing but excellent reviews and most gave it a high rating! The look is awesome for the movie premiere! Tiff I def think you'll love shopping at LOFT. They also have a discount for teachers...you'll soon be able to utilize that :)

I personally didn't like the movie, there was a lot of changes from the book to movie but I think it was just because I am too critical when it comes to these things. Oh well - I still love the book though!

That top is so cute! I love the print and the shoulder detailing! :) You read my opinion about the movie, I just thought they could have added a 1/2 hour and done it right. But I am so picky. The characters were cast amazingly though!

So...I literally just finished the HG novel a couple of hours ago...not bad. (Don't hate me for saying that!)

I have to admit that although I don't really want to rush out and see the movie (umm...don't hate me even more for that...), I AM curious to see how it parallels the book.

As far as I can see from the outfits above: there were TWO bunches of cuteness!

hi! i just stumbled across your blog today. I liked how the movie fits the book pretty closely. As a book reader (as opposed to movie goer) first, I appreciated the overall sequence of events. They reminded me of the order of the book.

Call me nit-picky, but I didn't like a few aspects of the movie like the fake cgi flames on katniss & peeta's costumes, how the audience never really knows katniss is faking her love, and how well-groomed katniss seems throughout the entire movie. Cool blog, and hope u will check mine out too! May the odds be ever in your favor! haha
