Beat the Heat!

Well, hello summer! Although yesterday was officially the first day of summer, in Florida it's been feeling like summer since March.  One thing Florida girls know how to do, it's work with the heat, not against it.  A few Florida bloggers have gotten together and are sharing with you their favorite "go-to outfits" to beat the heat.

I love a little sundress and sandals. I really do, but their necklines are usually so low on me that I have to wear a cardigan over it.  Layering on sweaters does not beat the heat!  This spring and summer, I've been gravitating towards the same thing on the weekends, either a swishy little skirt and a t-shirt, or my favorite jorts. =)

Neon Tank & Teal Tank: NY&Co
Jean shorts: American Eagle
Belt, Sandals, Neon Bangle & Earrings: Target
Sunglasses: Kohls

These denim shorts are actually very thin, so thin in fact that they're getting kind of bare on my bum. lol I don't know what I'll do when I wear them out! I guess, since they've served their purpose for the last four years, I'll just head back to American Eagle and get me another pair!

When it's boiling hot outside, you really can't go wrong with a breezy tank, a pair of shorts and some sandals! Wearing something bright like this neon shirt, just helps me to embrace the season, instead of hiding from it. =)

What do you like to wear to beat the heat?

I'm linking up today with Real Girl Glam, J9Style and Iris Focused on Fashion for their Florida Girls Beat the Heat.  Check out how other Florida girls beat the heat here!  I'm also linking up with Two Thirty Five Designs for her Casual Friday linkup and All Things Chic for Fashion Friday!

While you're here, would you please swing by Monroe & Main's facebook page and vote for my shoe haiku? It's #44 on Page 3! =)

Very cute and comfy. It's wicked hot in NY right now - in the 90's. Ya, that's a heat wave for us. My house is boiling. No AC. Well, we have one in our bedroom, but it keeps freezing up, meaning we're not freezing up.

Love the bright colors with your shorts. I need more shorts.

A colorful tank and a pair of shorts is a great way to go in the heat! It's been in the upper 90s here in Jersey. I've been wearing cotton dresses to work to keep cool...thank goodness for A/C!

I think when your butt finally pokes through the fabric, you should just let it hag out in all its glory--that would beat the heat! hahaha! If you've seen my Vegas posts you know that I wear shorts, sheer tops and bras to beat the heat.

I go the sundress route most of the time, but I am with you on them being too low cut sometimes. Cute hair too!

Love how you are beating the heat, Tiffany, that yellow tee is so fab! I have the same problem with sundresses and I end up layering them with camisoles underneath! Not a great idea for a hot summer day!

Oh man jorts are your selection to beat the heat? As long as it is thin denim like you said because it can get sweltering. For me it is usually a summer sun dress.

Sometimes nothing beats a classic tank and jean shorts. It's the go-to uniform of summer. I love the bright, bold color of your tank. And tha matching accessories are darling! Hope you aren't melting yet down there in Florida!

I love the idea of wearing bright colors to embrace the season instead falling into the usual whites and neutrals. And your sandals are fabulous!

Well, when I have the funds I like to wear either a knee length or long flowy lightweight skirt and a cotton tank or cami. Right now it's mostly jeans and tee's since I'm broke. Hehe.

btw You are wearing Skylar's current power color yellow. Be sure to submit some pics, I'd love to feature you again. We'll be on yellow for a while so you can submit any time.

Well, you have a fabulous weekend! Cute tank!

Tanks and shorts are perfect for the heat, but I also rely on sundresses.

You look so comfy out in the heat! I hate wearing pants, so I'll grab a maxi or a dress if it gets too hot!

I bet it is HOT! You are wearing the perfect outfit Tiff! I've been wearing a lot of skirts and sundresses. If I have to wear a sweater I like the ones from Old Navy they are super duper thin!!! In New Orleans, we have LOTS of humidity.
