OTI - Grace's Pick

This is the second day of Open to Interpretation and the look we are to interpret was chosen by Grace.  I adore Grace. Seriously, she's so witty and clever and cute. And she picked out an adorable look to inspire us!

However, when I interpreted the outfit, I basically just copied its baggyness. And baggy, shapeless outfits just aren't that great on me. I blame it on my curves. You can go here to see Grace's choice and to see how other bloggers have gotten inspired by it!

Shirt, Tank, Sandals: Target
Skirt: Maurices
Bling: Mostly Target, Some Bealls =)

Originally, I thought that combining the baggy summer sweater with the printed skirt was a winning interpretation of Reese's effortlessly chic style, but I was proven wrong. =) Oh, well, it happens.

Have you ever worn something you thought worked and it turned out that . . . well, it didn't? =)

I'm also participating today in Trends Fashion Challenge.  Today's prompt was to wear platforms or flats. I chose flats.  There's nothing quite like playing it safe in the shoe department to balance out an overly baggy skirt and top. =)

I think this relaxed baggy look works on you. The short skirt is a great pick to go with your loose top. It's a really cute look especially with the sandals. The green top peeping from under is a nice accent too. It's not as bad as you think....it's an adorable girlish look

I think you look great :) Maybe having one thing that is baggy and the other not baggy would work too. Show curves in one spot and not in the other. I like the colours too. I have many things I have worn and then thought I look terrible in them..I'd be here ages spilling it all, haha :) Have a super day! xx

You look good. I would look like a mis-matched bag of potatoes, but it works on you. I truly think you could pull any look off.

You look really cute! I probably wouldn't have tried that combo either, but it works really well! And yes, can't go wrong with a good pair of flats!

I felt the same way about the bagginess on myself. Meh. That said, I'm loving your stripes-on-stripes, and the shoes are awesome. (Don't you just love Target?)

Love that you worked two different inspirations into one outfit. I don't think of this as "baggy," it's just relaxed and comfortable looking. The flats were a great addition. This is the sort of outfit that is perfect for a much needed lazy day. Either way, glad that you shared the outfit!

Wow, you made the baggy/baggy thing work....not an easy task!

Love the layered stripes and the flat sandals. Comfy and easy breezy is perfect! I have similar issues with carrying off baggy outfits without waist definition, however I think showing off your legs helped balance this look. I do think a black necklace or something would have carried the bottom darks into the top half of your outfit.

I have days when I dig a baggy outfit. It hides the food baby I'm sporting at any given time. You look adorable! I love that pink on you.

I think this looks great! I have had so many outfits I thought it'd look great and then it didn't turn out that way!

I know what you mean about baggy outfits - they look great on skinny, tall models but not short, pear-shaped me. Your outfit, however, is another story! You totally pull it off! Looking fabulous!
