Wearing Rompers . . . Can you, should you?

The definition of a romper is a loosely fitted one-piece garment having short bloomers that is worn especially by small children for play.  It seems that society is changing the definition a bit. ;) I've seen rompers around more and more often lately.  It was never something that I considered wearing . . . ever!

Then, earlier this week, my sister-in-law (Hey, Emily!) called me to ask my opinion on them. For the record, I think she could definitely pull it off!  And that got me to thinking that maybe I could give one a try, too.  That same day, I found out that I won a $25 gift certificate to Le Lapin D'or and while browsing their site, I stumbled across this perfectly adorable orange romper. I thought surely it was fate. As it turns out, they didn't have any more in my size... but that didn't keep me from dreaming about this little beauty being mine!

Rompers aren't just for babies! =)

This one litte romper can be dressed down and worn to the beach or to run errands with the kids.  Or it can be dressed up for a night out with the girls or to go on a date with the Hubs. I still haven't tried one on in real life yet, but the cyber me is loving it! ;)

Maybe I'll branch out and by myself one and if I do, I'll be sure to let you know!

I'm linking up today with Long Distance Loving and Two Thirty Five Designs!

While you're here, would you please, pretty please, swing by Monroe & Main's facebook page and vote for my shoe haiku? It's #44 on Page 3. The contest ends tomorrow and you can vote once a day! Thanks, girls!! =)

I like them, they are sweet. But, I'd only wear one at the beach or lounging around outside or at home. I'd feel like I was a lil' girl if I wore it out actually. And as well...if I need the loo (bathroom) I'd be dancing trying to get the thing down to go, hahaha!! This would seriously happen to me, so I won't take the chance!! Have a super weekend doll :) xx

You would have no trouble pulling off a romper. I love the orange one from Le Lapin D'or - it's adorable! I think rompers can be fun for summer. They are pretty effortless and relaxed. I personally have never been able to pull one off, but the style isn't particularly me. But I think they'd be fun for a day at the beach, or out shopping.

I think rompers are really cute, but I'm not convinced I could pull one off! Love the pattern of that one you picked out :)

That gingham romper is really cute! I have one romper that I'll wear as a beach coverup or as an outfit on a really hot day :) Have a great weekend, Tiffany!

I still haven't tried this trend either. I think they're cute on other people, but I'm not sure I can do it. I love how you styled this one--I bet you would totally rock it!

I love how you dressed it up and down!! I know what you mean, I never thought I would wear a jumpsuit, until I tried one on (as a joke) and ended up really liking it!

I think that one is cute...I think certain ones are fun, but others definitely no!

I almost got one at the end of last year to wear as a swimsuit coverup - but it just wasn't very flattering on my curvy self! ;) I think they are adorable, but can't see having to get completely undressed every time I have to use the ladies room! hehe ;)

Rompers are one of those items that i wore the last time they were in style-so I will leave them for you younger girls! :)

This is a cute romper that you picked out. I like how you showed different options for wearing it.

I, personally, can't see myself wearing a romper...unless I found one that was cut just right, didn't look juvenile, and was dirt cheap! ;)

I've definitely changed my mind on the romper recently! Last year, I really was not sold on those things, they were a bit too trendy and young for my taste! Not this year! The designs are a lot better! Love how you styled this cute piece.

I gotta tell you, I love rompers! I think they're adorable and hot all at the same time- until you have to pee of course, then they're the worst thing ever. My fiance however does not like them, he says just the word reminds him of a child. Perhaps we should work on changing the name of them :)

You should try a romper, they're cute on. Only downside is wearing a onepiece can be a hassle!

i love what you do here.

My only issue with rompers is how I pee. I don't like having to take the whole thing down just to go to the bathroom! And I pee a lot.
