Wearing Rompers . . . Can you, should you?

The definition of a romper is a loosely fitted one-piece garment having short bloomers that is worn especially by small children for play.  It seems that society is changing the definition a bit. ;) I've seen rompers around more and more often lately.  It was never something that I considered wearing . . . ever!

Then, earlier this week, my sister-in-law (Hey, Emily!) called me to ask my opinion on them. For the record, I think she could definitely pull it off!  And that got me to thinking that maybe I could give one a try, too.  That same day, I found out that I won a $25 gift certificate to Le Lapin D'or and while browsing their site, I stumbled across this perfectly adorable orange romper. I thought surely it was fate. As it turns out, they didn't have any more in my size... but that didn't keep me from dreaming about this little beauty being mine!

Rompers aren't just for babies! =)

This one litte romper can be dressed down and worn to the beach or to run errands with the kids.  Or it can be dressed up for a night out with the girls or to go on a date with the Hubs. I still haven't tried one on in real life yet, but the cyber me is loving it! ;)

Maybe I'll branch out and by myself one and if I do, I'll be sure to let you know!

Fashion Friday - Summer Lunch

Happy Friday, friends! I'm enjoying this incredibly hot weather we've been having here in Florida.  It's making dream of swishy skirts, sandals and weekend lunch dates with friends... Or better yet, a date with the hubs! =)

This is a fun little ensemble I put together that makes me think of a carefree afternoon lunching with the girls.

And this is a look I put together for a lunch date with my guy. It's cute, flirty and fun with all of the bright colors. I've seen girls wearing cute little denim vests all over the place lately. I really need to get myself one!

Wednesday's Want: A Stylin' Suit for My Cruise

Yesterday, I asked a specific question on twitter and facebook. Where should I shop for a reasonably priced swimsuit? I'm setting sail for the beautiful land of Mexico in a few weeks and every girl needs a new suit for a cruise, am I right? ;)

Thank you to Faith, Bonnie, Bessie and a few of my friendly facebook followers for your suggestions! The general consensus was Target. So, I did what any self-respecting blogger would do. I browsed Target's site for a few cute suits and put together two different looks on polyvore. =)

And now, I'm depending on YOU to tell me which way to go.  Vibrant and sassy beach chic or the one that sort of has a hippie vibe?

Thrifty Thursday - Things I Want

I'm not spending money for a bit because I kind of overspent last month. But there are still a few things I really really want to buy if I could. So... ya know, my birthday’s coming up in a few months. If you’re at all inclined to shop for me early, you could totally go pick up one or two of these. =) Or maybe when the Hubs gives me the go-ahead, I’ll go on a mad shopping spree and get them all. =) Or the more likely scenario will be that I’ll just lust over them for a bit and when I finally go to buy them, they’ll be all sold out.

1.  Pencil Skirts. I love them lately, thanks to Taylor of It's My Cardi. That girl can rock a pencil skirt like nobody’s business! I think I only have one black one, but I need more colorful ones.  Specifically, this Polynesian blue one and this black & white striped one, both from J.C.Penney’s and both for really reasonable prices!

2.  Bright shoes. I have one pair of bright shoes and I wear the heck out of them.  But I need some yellow ones and pink ones and blue ones and red ones . . .

3. Colored skinny jeans. I've been seeing these all over the blogosphere and how I want a pair! I love these white ones at J.C.Penney's.  And these red ones at Sears.  And these turquoise ones. 


Okay, so that's kind of a big list of things I want today.  Maybe when I leave work, I'll stumble across a few hundred dollars to cover all these things. If not, that's okay, I'll just keep my eyes peeled for something similar next time I'm thrifting or clearance rack shopping. =)
