OTI - Kayla's Pick

Today's Open to Interpretation look was chosen by Kayla and I could not love this look more.  Seriously, check out the original inspiration photo here.  Isn't it wonderful?? The denim vest, the bright maxi skirt, the nude wedges. I just love the boho chic vibe of it! Upon seeing this photo, I promptly ran to the thrift store in search of a denim vest and a bright maxi skirt. I was disappointed to find nothing.  So, I had to work with what I had... kind of. =)

Chambray Sleeveless Shirt: Thrifted
Tank & Maxi Skirt: Target
Wedges: Cato (gift from my aunt!)

When I couldn't find a maxi skirt at the thrift store, I promptly went to my next favorite place . . . Target! =) They had many to choose from and I decided on this simply black one because I can do so much with it!

Then I tried my best to recreate something similar with what I had in my closet.

Bracelets: Target, JCPenney, Scarlet Samples (puchase similar here), Tara Lane Designs (purchase here)
Orange Ring: Ellis & Wiles (purchase similar here)
Other Rings: Target

Isn't this zipper bracelet adorable?? I won it in a giveaway hosted by the lovely Alicia and have been wearing it pretty much every day since I received it! =) It can be worn with nearly anything and is such a fun addition to a stack of bracelets.

Have you ever won a giveaway?  What's your favorite item that you've won?

I'm kind of all over the place today! =) I'm linking up with The Pleated Poppy and Transatlantic Blonde for What I Wore Wednesday.  Don't forget to stop by Freckles in April and see how everyone else interpreted Kayla's outfit!

Last, but not least, I wasn't able to participate in the Trends Fashion Challenge today, but if you're interested in seeing how other bloggers are wearing florals and tribal prints today, then swing by Megan Mae Daily! =)

I hope you're all having a great Wedensday!

Guest Post - Heather & Kayla

I'm setting sail today, so I've asked a few girls to fill in for me and talk to my readers about their favorite vacations and what they like to pack for vactation!  Today's post comes from two of the cutest bloggers in Ohio, Heather and Kayla!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello Breakfast with Tiffany friends!  We are Heather and Kayla with H&K Style Journey.  While Tiffany is away on her cruise (so fun!) she asked us if we would share with all of you one of our favorite vacations.
While some of you may not think that camping is a vacation, this is something that our family does every 4th of July holiday.  It's been a tradition for us for many years and it has brought us a ton of family memories.  We live in Ohio, so our destination is beautiful Lake Erie.  We always stay in the same campground, usually get the same spot every year, and yes, we rough it in a tent!
Our humble abode! Here is Miss M, A  (Kayla's friend), and Kayla
Every summer we plan trips to the beach, lots of bike riding, sometimes mini trips to Cedar Point or Put-in-Bay (a little island in Lake Erie), and just lots of relaxing and fun.
Look at all the people! You have to get to the beach early if you want a good spot
Probably our favorite thing to do while camping, besides eating tons of smores, is to go to the beach!  We always end up sun burned, tired, and hungry, but always happy when we get to swim and hang out.
Camping and roughing it is a nice change for us.  We can throw out the fashion, wear baseball caps, no make up, and just have fun!  What are some of your favorite vacations?
Thanks to Tiffany for asking us to share one of our favorite vacations with your readers.  Have a great time on your cruise and we can't wait to see your pictures!
Camping, wow!! I'm not a camping fan, but I AM a beach fan! =) There's not much better (to me) than a day at the beach, coming back with that sunkissed glow and relaxing . . . on the couch! ;)  Thanks for taking care of my readers today! If you don't already know Heather and Kayla (and I'm sure you do, because they're kind of a big deal), then stop by their blog and say check them out!
Meet a Friend Monday - Heather & Kayla
It's Meet a Friend Monday and today, I'd like to introduce you to the adorable mother/daughter pair, Heather & Kayla!
Hello Breakfast at Tiffany's readers!  We are Heather and Kayla of H&K Style Journey.  We are a mom and teenage daughter who blog as an outlet to learn to shop our closets, talk about random things, and show our thrifted finds.  As mom and teenage daugther, we may not always see eye to eye, but one thing we agree on is fashion!
We have recently started a new feature called Mother/Daughter Remix.  Even though Kayla is sixteen and Heather is thirty-something, our closets sometimes merge and the remix was born!  No matter what your age, we feel you can look stylish and make items in your closet work for you.  Also, it's fun to remix clothes we already have and to get more use out of our wardrobes.
In addition to our Mother/Daughter remix, we each post our daily outfits and we like to receive suggestions and constructive criticism from our readers.  We also like when you toot our horns too, lol!
You will find us talking about random things like motherhood, driving lessons, people doing weird things in their cars on the highway, our dog who escapes, getting busted by the neighbors for taking pictures, taking posing lessons from Miss M our six year old daughter/sister, and hopefully give you a few laughs along the way!
We would like to thank Tiffany for asking us to meet all of you!  She is one of our favorite bloggers and we enjoy reading about her family, her delicious recipes, and seeing her in all her stylish glory!  We are glad to meet Tiffany and all of you through this awesome thing called fashion blogging!
Aww, they are so sweet!! I really do love them! They're both so cute and I only hope my Little Miss grows up to be as stylish and completely un-slutty as Kayla is! So many young girls think they have to show their goods to be trendy, and Kayla shows us that is totally unnecessary. Props to Heather for doing such a great job as a mom!  Now go check them out!!
