From My Little Guy

It's 6:00 a.m. and I just finished my run and my mind is full of all the things I have to get done today. So, rather than ramble on about all that, I'll share a few jewels from my Little Guy.

Little Guy: Mom, I never get anything I want.
Me: Well, that's not true. But what is it that you want?
Little Guy: I want a real cowboy that sits on a real white horse that I can play with.
Me: You want a real one?
Little Guy: Well, it can be a toy, I guess.
Blazer: NY&Co, Thrifted
Dress: NY&Co, Hand Me Down
Tank: NY&Co, Borrowed from my Mom

My Little Guy was singing a song that he made up about animals yesterday morning. Suddenly, he said, "Hey, mom. I'm singing to God." I said, "Well, that's great, buddy." Then he said, "Does God like it when we're funny?" To which I said, "Sure!" "Does Jesus laugh?" he asked. Ummm, I guess He does, right?  I should have said that He only laughs when you're not aggravating mama. =)

Yesterday evening, I was listening to my Little Guy (4) and Little Miss (2) play in the playroom. I heard him call, "Hey Mom, come here!" So, I walked into the playroom and he said, "Not you, mom! This mom!" and he pointed to his little sister.  Later, they were pretending she was his daughter and I heard him say, "Hey kid! You better obey me, kid!" Ha! I can promise you that we don't call him kid. I don't know where he comes up with this stuff!

New Jeans!

If you don't actually jump onto a particular trend right away, are you still cool when you finally do it? ;) I finally joined everyone else in the world and got myself a pair of cute turquoise jeans!

Shirt: NY&Co ($10, similar here)
Jeans: NY&Co ($30, similar here and here)
Tank, Wrist Wrap & Necklace: Target
Shoes: 6pm.com (similar here and here)

Of course, the first thing I wanted to do with it was pair it with an equally bright color.  If you combine fuschia and turquoise on a Friday (when I wore this outfit), you are bound to have an endless supply of chipperness! And I did. I was like the epitome of bubbly all day long. ;)

Maybe I should have saved this outfit for today... Monday is always in need of some extra chipperness, wouldn't you say?  I guess an extra cup or two of coffee will have to suffice. ;)

Guess what, you guys?!?  My week of teaching (where I spend the week in charge of and teaching the classroom I've been doing my practicum in) is coming up so fast! Do y'all remember when I made the decision to change careers and start the process to get certified to teach not all that long ago??  I honestly can't believe that I'm so close to the end!

Friday's Flavor of the Week - All the Colors of the Rainbow

If you can't tell from the title, I have a really random post for you full of many unrelated colors! =) I thrifted these lime green Ann Taylor pants a while back and have worn them a few times, but this is their first time on the blog.

Chambray Shirt: Gap, Thrifted ($4)
Pants: Ann Taylor, Thrifted ($4)
Tank: Express ($15)
Shoes: rsvp, 6pm.com ($6.95)

After seeing them photographed, I realized that they are not as flattering as I thought they were! Does that ever happen to you?  You really like an item of clothing until you see it in pictures... These are a little baggy and after wearing them for a while, they get really loose through the thighs, which simply isn't very flattering on my already larger-than-I'd-like thighs!

This necklace, however, I love! ;)

A few readers have mentioned that they liked my nails in the past few posts...  I had painted them two fun colors to carry me through last weekend. They were certainly not shades that I would have picked for an interview, but they were definitely fun!

SpaRitual in Knowledge is Power
NYC in Times Square Tangerine

I got the SpaRitual polish from apothica.com and I really like the shade. It was a pretty matte polish that dried quickly and lasted as long as can be expected when you type for a living and cook and take care of kids every evening! ;)

Close-Up of the Nails =)

Speaking of interviews (which I very briefly mentioned a second ago), what color polish would you wear?  I'm thinking a nude shade or just a clear coat.  I will (fingers crossed) be interviewing for teaching positions within the next month or so!
