Wear it Wednesday - Who says you can't wear black & brown?

I thrifted this dress a while back (the day before my shopping ban began) and had never worn it simply because I couldn't decide what to pair it with.  I thought pairing it with a black belt and shoes seemed to boring and predictable. And let's face it . . . I don't like to be too predictable! =)  It suddenly hit me last night as I was mentally perusing my closet while lying in bed. I'll challenge all the stuffy old fashion rules and wear brown! It helped that I saw this brown belt hanging in my sis's closet yesterday. =)

Dress: Thrifted, Helping Hands Mission ($4)
Cardi & Belt: Maurices (Borrowed from Sis)
Necklace, Bracelets & Brown Ring: No Idea (Borrowed from Sis)
Boots: Shoedazzle (Birthday Gift)

Knees are kind of the most unattractive body part on the female body, wouldn't you say?

Okay, I really do own more pairs of shoes than these boot and these booties, despite wearing them over and over and over again lately, but I really reallylike them! Whenever I find something that I love, I wear the heck out of it until I tire of it.  Do y'all do that? Please, someone, tell me I'm not the only one!

Next time, I might pair this with purple accessories.  What do you think?  What would you do with this dress?

And on another note, I'm linking up with all kinds of fabulous blogs today!  Go check out all the other fabulous ladies who are dressing up!

Good for you for rocking the black and brown! This dress is great :) Purple would look fabulous since purple and green look great together. Orange would be fun too! Heather

Love the outfit! Green is my favorite color and you really pulled off the black & brown. I'm always hesitant to mix those two colors but you have done it very well.

You proved that "rule" wrong!

That old rule is so old....it should RIP. I love this outfit and those boots...just keep wearing them! They look fantastic with everything you've photographed with! Purple accessories would look awesome with this dress too :)

I think your boots are amazing and you should keep rocking them! I personally find it so satisfying to find something that I like to wear a lot. I think your dress would look great with purple, too.

very gorgeous dress, I like the retro chic print, very 60's. Great choice of colors too, I like the neutral cardi and black belt. And the fun accessories are cute. Try it with purple ones too, I'm sure they will look great with the dress. If I have boots like yours I would wear them to death too.

You are not the only one. Also, brown and black are a perfectly classic color combination. They are both neutrals and you can always mix neutrals. So, mix it up, girl. You look amazing.

I'm the same way, with my shoes especially! I LOVE YOUR BOOTS, they are so cute it's kind of necessary to wear them all the time. ;0)

This dress is adorable! I love the print! I think purple would look fantastic, but also would just white, so the pattern of the dress stands out.

YES to purple with the dress! Purple and green is a killer combination. I'm going to decorate my house in those colors. Someday...

I like that you wore brown in the mix instead of just black. Black does get to be predictable after a while, doesn't it? And keep on wearing the boots for as long as you like...they're lovely! I think all of us, to an extent, wear the stuff we love over and over until we get tired of it. No worries!
