Day Four - Dabbling in Color Blocking

Today, Kayla is challenging us to color block. I feel like a cheated a little bit. See, here's the problem I ran into. It seems I've worn all of my color blockable outfits recently.  Monday's outfit would have been perfect for today. Too bad I'm too spontaneous to plan ahead. lol  I even tried pairing one of my solid colored cardis with my coral colored dress, but nothing looked just right. So, instead of obvious color blocking, you're getting some subtle blocks of color today. =)

Please don't mind me while I get my "model" on. ;)

Day Three - Mixin' It Up

That's right, my friends. Kayla's 21 Day Challenge has us mixing up the patterns today!  This one's a toughie for me. I perused my closet and found that I own no striped shirts. I have a few striped cardigans, but not a single striped shirt. How is that even possible, you ask. Well, for the longest time, I was under the impression that sideways stripes make a girl look fat. Pshhh what do "they" know, anyways?? I've seen sideways stripes all over the place since discovering fashion blogging, so my new obsession (once I'm allowed to shop again, but that's another story!) is finding a few striped shirts!  Okay, back to the matter at hand, I knew without a doubt that I wanted to include this new to me skirt in the mix today.  With that in mind, I pondered between a zebra print blazer or my zebra print belt that's been all over my blog lately.  Since I'm not a fan of taking too many risks, I settled on the zebra print belt and saved the zebra print blazer for another day.

Shirt: Converse, Target (Borrowed from my Sis)
Skirt: Bought at a Yard Sale ($4)
Belt: Bealls ($4)
Shoes: Nine West, TJ Maxx ($15)
Blingin' Ring: McKell's Closet
Bracelets: Assortment from Bealls & Target

Oh, funny story. This morning, while taking pictures at the gardens I recently discovered, I was attacked by a swarm of killer bees. Okay, not really a swarm. Just one. And okay, I wasn't really attacked, but I did do the "bee dance" and waved my arms around like a crazy person for a few seconds. Good thing the gardens are pretty much deserted first thing in the morning or people might think the girl who takes pictures of herself is a little wacky.

Day Two - Tuck It

Today's prompt as part of the 21 Day Challenge is to Tuck It! This works perfectly for me today because I'm stuck home with the sick Little Miss. All we have on the agenda is a doctor's appointment and after our sleepless night, I don't have much energy for much more than tucking it. =)

T-shirt: Bought from my Sis
Shoes: Borrowed from my Sis
Jeans: Maurices
Belt: Bealls
Bracelets: An assortment from Target & Old Navy

I am a bit embarrassed that I'm giving forth such half-hearted effort and we're only on Day Two.  I had something much more inspiring picked out, but a pencil skirt and dressy shirt just weren't going to cut it when I realized that I was spending the day as Dr. Mom. I know, excuses, excuses . . . Tomorrow will be better, I promise!

If you want to see how the other participants are tucking it today (& I assure you, they're probably much better attired than I am at the moment), go HERE! And if you want to enter to win my giveaway, go HERE!
