Pink Blush Maternity Review & Giveaway

Have you heard of the clothing company Pink Blush Maternity?  They are an online boutique that offers ladies like us trendy maternity clothes!  They recently sent me this maxi skirt to review.

I fell. I fell hard. I fell so in love.

25 Weeks, 3 Days (But who's counting?!?)
 photo IMG_5850_zpsbfc5b764.jpg
Tank: Target
Denim Jacket: Thrifted
Maxi Skirt: c/o Pink Blush Maternity
Wedges: Kohls

The fabric is incredibly soft and the fit is perfect. It has a nice stretchy waistband that can be worn below your growing belly (if you're tall enough) or above your belly, like I wore it (because I'm a shorty).

It's finally starting to warm up in Florida (don't hate me!) and I can see myself wearing this all spring and even throughout the summer, after Daisy arrives.

Today, I went nautical by pairing the bright coral stripes with a blue tank and denim jacket. Then I added these nautical nails with tiny orange anchors on them, which I'll tell you more about this week!

I can see myself wearing this skirt with so many different ways... With turquoise, with the Pantone color of the season, radiant orchid, and most definitely with some cute sandals and wedges as soon as it's warm enough!

How would you like to do a little shopping for maternity clothes yourself?? Pink Blush Maternity is offering one of you a $25 gift card to their site!!  Use the rafflecopter entry form below to enter. =)

Preggo Style: That One Sunny Day

Well, we had one beautiful day sandwiched between the gray, gloomy cold days last week. I decided to make the most of it and wore a bright tee and a maxi skirt. All I was missing was a pretty pair of sandals and I'd have been ready for summer. However, my toes weren't even a little bit ready, so closed-toe flats were the way to go.

Now, if my Jamberry Nail Wraps had already arrived, I can promise you my toes would be in tip-top shape.

A Maxi Dress, A Necklace, Wrestling & A Giveaway

What do those four things have in common?  Typically, nothing. Today, they have me: the glue that binds them together into one cohesive blog post! ;)

When I was in Destin a few weeks ago, I had a chance to visit the Loft Outlet and seriously could have spent my entire paycheck in there! Instead, I narrowed my purchases down to two dresses.  This little dress that I wore last week and this lovely maxi dress. They were only $19.99 each! They actually had dozens of different dresses at that price. I can't wait to go back when Whitney comes in town. =)

Dress: Loft Outlet
Tank & Sandals: Target

Do you remember when I won this gorgeous necklace from Castellammare Designs? Well, I was thrilled when the owner reached out to me later and offered to give away a piece to one of my readers!

Necklace: Castellammare Designs (purchase here)
Rings & Earrings: Premier Designs Jewelry
Bracelets: Target

Castellammare Designs jewelry is sweet and feminine, while being lively and playful at the same time. Kind of like me! ;)

Do you see that big ole ring on my forefinger?  That beauty is my husband's college National Championship wrestling ring!

Wrestling is in our blood!  My husband's dad and uncle (who are twins!) wrestled in the Olympics in both 1968 and 1972! My husband, his brother and all of his cousins wrestled in high school and college. And you want to know the kicker? My husband's cousin, Sam, is wrestling for Team USA this year in London!! We're all so excited and can't wait for the opening ceremonies Friday night! Go Sam!!

Anyways, back to the matter at hand... this sweet necklace!

I love how she's designed it with the ribbon, in my personal power color. =)

Castellammare Designs wants to give one of you the piece of your choice! Just like I specifically chose this necklace in my favorite color, you'll be able to browse the items in her shop and choose the piece that relates to you best. Maybe a piece that speaks to you in some way or that you feel represents what you're all about!

It's the time of year for . . . a tan!!

I went to the beach this weekend and nothing was more glaringly obvious than my need for a tan! ;) (Well, maybe my need for a bit more exercise, but we won't get into that...)  It's that time of year, when we start baring our white legs for the first time this year, and that is why this giveaway couldn't come at a better time!

My little blog recently got itself a new sponsor, SkinCareRx, and they want to offer one of YOU a $20 gift card (redeemable at SkinCareRx, Apothica or SkinBotanica)!

SkinCareRx offers some of the best self tanners on the market!  Go check out their site. My Influenster Love VoxBox Review & Giveaway!

When I got word last month that I was receiving an Influenster Love VoxBox, I was ecstatic! I absolutely love to review new products and from the reviews I had seen in December, this box was sure to be full of all kinds of fun goodies.  And let me tell you, it was!!

I'm going to break it down for you, one goody at a time. =)

Kiss Nail Dress

Kiss Nail Dress in Cocktail
Silver & Turquoise Ring c/o Blue Vanilla
Silver Knot Ring & Earrings: My Sister's

I absolutely loved these these nail stickers from Kiss! They're cute and catchy and incredibly easy to apply.  I'm finding that these seem to be lasting longer than the other stickers I've tried.  I applied them Thursday evening, so they've survived a day of typing at work, a weekend at home peeling potatoes and eggs for potato salad, scrubbing dishes, and playing with the kids, and are well into another Monday at the office.  And they are still looking pretty good! I like them so much, in fact, that while I was at Target today, I picked up a pack for YOU! Details about how to win your own stylin' Kiss Nail Dress below. =)

Ghirardelli Gourmet Milk Bar

When most girls see chocolate, it's a no brainer. Of course, it's delicious! But Ghirardelli chocolate? Ahh, it's the kind of chocolate that just melts in your mouth and makes you feel decadent. Their new line delivers an epicurean milk chocolate experience!  They have three different flavors: Creamy Devotion, Sea Salt Escape and Coconut Rendezvous.  I tasted the Creamy Devotion and I absolutely love it! It was rich and smooth and . . . didn't last long.  Despite only needing one or two to "hit the chocolate spot," it still only lasted a day or two because I just kept going back for more! =)  The box also came with a coupon that I'll be using soon so that I can try the other flavors!

Stash Herbal Tea

I'm not really much of an herbal tea girl.  I'm from the South, so I love my iced sweet tea, but I've never really developed much of a taste for hot herbal tea.  However, I didn't let that stop me! In fact, when the Love VoxBox arrived, I had been suffering from severe allergies for weeks.  I had that whole stuffy nose, sore throat and wicked cough thing that creeps up this time of year.  I decided to try the lemon ginger tea and it soothed my sore throat perfectly!  Because Stash Herbal Tea is all naturally caffeiene free, I also had a cup of the chamomile tea one evening to help me get to sleep.  I thoroughly enjoyed the taste of both of the flavors I've tried.  I may even start keeping some in the house for when my allergies act up again.

Truvia

If I'm being completely honest, I rarely ever use sweetener.  I just don't really have much of a need for it. I typically sweeten my coffee with flavored creamer.  To see how truvia tasted, I decided to taste it straight from the packet! It was made up of little granules like real sugar and not of a powdery substance. It had a pleasant, sweet taste and dissolved quickly.  I also added it to my Stash Herbal Tea and it gave the tea the perfect amount of sweetness that this southern girl likes in her tea!

Gilette Venus & Olay Razor

A razor with Olay's moisturizing properties and the close shave the Venus razors are known for??? Sign me up, please! I typically shave my legs with shaving gel, but with this razor, I didn't have to. I simply wet the razor and went at it.  I ended up with a close shave that was definitely worthy of the beach! Now, if I can just find my tan . . .

Now here's how YOU can win your own Kiss Nail Dress!

Just leave a comment on this post and let me know... have you ever used any of these products?  What did you think?  And if you haven't, but you're just dying to try out Kiss Nail Dress, then just tell me where you would wear them!  Make sure you leave me your email address so that I can contact you when you win! =)  I'll announce a winner on Monday, March 19th!

**I received these products compliments of the VoxBox program, but all of the opinions are 100% honest and completely mine!

Project Runway's Christopher Straub, Maurices & A Giveaway!!

Raise your hand if you're familiar with the show, Project Runway

Oh, wait, of course you are!  I mean, we're all fashion bloggers here, or followers of fashion blogs or girls that are at least interested in fashion. So, we all know about Project Runway! I've seen an episode of it here and there, but I don't watch it regularly. A) I don't have cable anymore. (*gasp* I know! That's crazy, right? But really, that's a topic for another blog post.) And B) I just don't have time to watch TV anymore. Trust me, I wish I did!

Anyways, all of that to say that Christopher Straub from season 6 is collaborating with Maurices to launch a designer line!!  Maurices is a hometown store that sells trendy apparel to the hometown girl with a twenty-something attitude and spirit. Hey, that's me! I may not be twenty-something anymore, but I sure do act like it. ;)  Y'all know that I love Maurices. I wear something from their store at least once a week! lol  Christopher is from Shakopee, Minnesota, and very proud of his hometown roots, which is one of the reasons Maurices knew he would be a perfect match for them.  I'm so excited about this collaboration!! The collection launches online Tuesday and in stores on Black Friday. These party frocks are gorgeous and most definitely worth breaking my shopping ban for! ;)  Everything from the lush cropped fur jacket to the elegant burgandy dress to the sparkly jewelry is reasonably priced to keep you and I dressed to impress and stay on budget. It's the best of both worlds really. =)

I had the opportunity to interview Christopher via skype on Friday and let me tell you, it was a pleasure!  Here are a few of our Q's and A's. =)

Me: I went to your website and saw all of your gorgeous bags.  Where do you get your inspiration?
Christopher:  Most of my inspiration comes from nature.  Most of my inspiration comes from nature. I’m always in tune with the seasons and with what’s happening. I love floral and water and air and leaves and those elements and they’re really important in my design. I try to incorporate them in my designs whenever possible.

Me: Who is your favorite designer?
Christopher: Oh, there are a couple. One of my favorites is Alexander McQueen. He also drew his inspiration from nature and likes the art and showmanship of it.  But I also like Betsey Johnson. She has a lot of fun with fashion and that's fantastic.

Me: What trends do you see being big for 2012?
Christopher: Sequins aren’t leaving us quite yet! It’s great because a couple of  years ago everything that was sequined was shiny silver sequins.   And now we’re really playing with texture and proportion and going into matte sequins and other colors and even printing on top of sequins. I think that that’s still going to be an important trend maybe for the next couple of years.

Me: In your opinion, what is the "must have" fashion piece or trend for the holidays?
Christopher: For the holidays?? I have a list of must haves! Do you only want one or can I give you a few.
Me: Yes, give me your list! lol
Christopher: I’ll give you a few because I just did a whole article about this! I would say a jacket or what I call a topper that gets you from home to the car and from the car to the party.  Don’t throw an athletic jacket over that cute little dress. Something that’s textured or furry or like a bolero.  Change up the proportions a little bit, too. It doesn’t have to be a huge jacket.  I call that just a topper. And the other big thing for me is a clutch. A clutch that coordinates with your outfit that’s just big enough to hold everything you want, but it’s not a purse.  Those are probably my two must haves for the holidays.

Me: If you were told that you could only shop at one clothing store for an entire year, which store would you choose?
Christopher: I live in MN and we have the Mall of America., which has like 500 stores.  And every time I go, I always go into this one store called Heritage.  It’s parent company is Forever 21.  It’s like Forever 21 for men.  They have like cool jackets and t-shirts and skinny jeans.  For someone like me who has to make appearances, I have to buy pieces that are going to have a short life span because I can't show the same things over and over again.  So, I go to places that are more accessible.

Me:  Out of all the celebrities in the world, who would you most like to design for?
Christopher: I think Lady Gaga. It’s not just that she’s a star. She has fun and she pushes fashion to the breaking point. She doesn’t pinpoint herself to one specific style. She does everything from high end fashion to truly art pieces. And then also because of how immensely famous she is. If you put a piece on her, everyone is going to know about it.

Me: What do you like most about being a fashion designer?
Christopher: The thing about being a fashion designer is that it’s about being an artist and getting things out of my head.  What  I enjoy most is that I’m able to get the thought in my head out and onto a body or whatever and then I’m able to move on to the next idea.

That pretty much sums it up! He was such a sweetheart and so incredibly patient with my lack of interviewing skills. lol I felt like more of an interrogator because I wasn't so great with transitioning from one question to the next. I'll have to work on that for my next big interview! ;)

You can go here to view the lookbook for Christopher's collection with Maurices.  Or you can drool over these photos. =)

I absolutely love the skirt on this LBD! I could totally see it with a little red sweater and some red accessories to really Christmasify it. =)

This cropped fur jacket and dress? GOR-geous!!

Now, for the truly exciting news? Maurices wants to give you, one of my lucky readers a $50 gift card to their store! If you don't have a Maurices nearby, no worries, they have a website where you can shop to your heart's content!

This giveaway is now closed!

Here's how you enter:

Go to Maurices' website, pick out your favorite item and then leave me a comment telling me what you'd like to purchase with the gift card. And that's all you have to do!!  This giveaway is open to US residents only.

Ten Things Tuesday & A Giveaway!!!

I've enjoyed Whitney's Ten Things Tuesday so much that I'm stealing a page from her book and doing one of my own! It's okay, she said she doesn't mind at all that I'm copying her. =) Today's Ten Things is brought to you by the letter "T" as in Thankful. Yesterday, I was musing about how blessed I am and thought I should share with you ten things I am so incredibly thankful for. Some are the things we take for granted and some are things we thank God for every day, but nonetheless, I am thankful!

1. Coffee. Okay, yes, I realize this is a little thing, but at 7:30 in the morning as I stumble into work after a crazy insane morning trying to rush the kids out of the house, I am very thankful for coffee.

2. Those sweet little moments that remind me why I love being a mom. When my Little Guy wraps his arms around my neck and says, "I love you, mom. Will you take special care of my Boo today?" (He said that to me this morning when I dropped him off at school. Boo is his tiger that he's been attached to for the past two days.) And when my Little Miss runs straight at me with her arms out whenever I've been out of the room for any length of time.

3. Excedrin Migraine. For those sour little moments when my sweet kids are no longer being sweet and have given me a headache. lol

4. My salvation. I'm so thankful to Jesus for saving me and preparing a home for me in Heaven. As my Little Guy is starting to get older, I pray every day that he comes to know Christ like I do!

5. Target. Ummm... yes, I am so thankful that I have a Target just a few blocks from my office. Need diapers? I'll run by Target on my lunch break and while I'm there, maybe I'll pick up an accessory or two. ;)

6. Florida. Yes, as hot as it is in Florida right now, I'm still so thankful that I live here! I love it. I love being near the beaches.  I love our mild winters. There are only two other states that I might like living in more than Florida. Can you guess which ones they are?

7. My family. As in my mom and dad and brothers and sister and aunts and uncles and grandmas and grandpas and cousins. I come from a very large extended family and I love it! Growing up, we'd have these huge family functions every holiday and all the cousins ran around the house and wreaked havoc. It was so much fun!

8. My husband. One of these days, I'm going to do a post just about him. He's amazing. He loves every single bit of me, even my faults (at least, I pretend that he loves my faults). =) He cooks. He's super clean. I mean, usually, I'm the one who leaves my shoes in the middle of the floor, not him! He's really into fitness. I really can't even imagine a future where he's not a hottie. As soon as he finishes training for one marathon or 1/2 ironman, he's already planning his next big event. He takes fantastic care of the kids and doesn't mind diaper duty or bath time. Yeah, I'm a pretty lucky girl and I won't EVER take him for granted!

9. The color yellow. It's one of those colors that instantly lifts my spirits on a gloomy day. Like right now, I have incredibly chipped yellow nail polish on my nails. But as I'm clicking away on the keyboard, I still see flashes of yellow and it makes me happy.

10. And last, but not least, YOU!!! Yes, you, my lovely readers! Which is why I'm doing a little giveaway right now!
