Meet a Friend - Tricia!

I'm late! My goodness, it's nearly 9:00 and I'm finally getting my Meet a Friend post up. Crazy! Is this what happens when you start teaching? You can't think of anything except your classroom and lesson plans and all that jazz?

Okay, well, I really am excited to introduce you to Tricia from The Domestic Fringe! I "met" her in the blogging world a few months back and then later we realized we went to the same college... which I guess wouldn't be too big of a coincidence except that we went to a really small conservative Christian college. What a small world! Tricia is the adorable mom of two cute kids and is hysterically funny. For reals, this girl cracks me up on a daily basis!

Without further ado, meet Tricia.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Hi all! I'd say "Hi y'all", but I'm a Yankee. Don't hold that against me, because I like sweet tea, the beach, and barbecue just as much as anyone born below the Mason-Dixon line.

My name is Tricia, but people in blogland call me FringeGirl. I blog over on The Domestic Fringe. It's a little nutty over there, but I'm right at home among nuts, preferably peanuts in m&m's; however, I am currently trying to break that addiction. It's going...well...not so great.

I stumbled on Tiffany's blog a couple of months back and I adore her cute style and fun self. I only wish I could be half as fashionable as she is, but I'm about one step above pajamas and slippers, not to mention my husband says I wear Medusa snakes on my head.

Whenever I go out shopping, I always set out to look for trendy pieces that will ramp up my wardrobe, and I always leave with a bag of clearance t-shirts. That either qualifies me for nursing home fashion or preschool style. Either way, I'm out of my league. If anyone would like to call What Not to Wear and turn me and my saggy bottom jeans in, please feel free. I'll email you my address and my husband's cell phone number, so Stacy and Clinton can set up an ambush.
Even on the rare occasion I try and dress up, I end up looking like a Stepford wife instead of looking elegant and classy.

I guess at this point there's no real need to tell you I am not a fashion blogger. That's a "Duh" point already. I mostly blog about life. I have a husband, two kids, and a pet Betta fish named Hot-Shot. We also had a long-tailed lizard, but it just passed on to the great swamp in the sky. God rest his reptile soul.

There's no telling what pet will replace the lizard. If my kids have their way, we'll have a Komodo Dragon and a hairless cat. I wouldn't put anything past these two.

It is my dream to one day have a book, written by me (another "Duh" moment), sitting on a shelf in Barnes and Noble, but for now I am blogging and working on ideas. Ever hear the term "Starving Artist"? Now you know why. We are always working on ideas instead of working on things that make money.

I hope you'll come visit me over on The Domestic Fringe and join me in finding funny moments in this reality we call life.

Thank you Tiffany for having me as your guest. I enjoy visiting your blog every day and getting some inspiration to class up my style. Maybe one day soon your good taste will rub off on me. Until then, you'll find me at the clearance rack in Target.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Hey, I'm ALL about the clearance rack at Target! Y'all (I'm definitely from the south!) should head on over to The Domestic Fringe and say hi!

Meet a Friend - Raj!

Do y'all want to know something amazing? Today is my very last Monday EVER at the law office! Next Monday, I'll officially be doing teachery stuff. Okay, to be honest, I've been doing teachery stuff off and on since I began this career changing journey. And more "on" than "off," since finding out that I got the job I wanted!  Anyways, it is a very happy Monday, indeed.

On that note, I'd like to introduce you to the lovely Raj of www.pinkchaistyle.com. Take it away, Raj!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Hello everyone I'm Raj from Pink Chai Style, and I'm thrilled to be visiting Have Breakfast with Tiffany today. When I sat down to write my post I was pretty stumped because writing about myself isn't really my favorite topic. So, I've decided to share a little background into my journey as a hobby blogger to an almost professional blogger in the hope that it might inspire or motivate some of the readers here to chase their big dreams too!

Pink Chai Style is a personal style blog that I started about a year and a half ago to get out a fashion funk. We were going through a big transition period in our life, had recently moved, and I was sort of unhappy with where I was at in my career - so I decided to take a picture of what I wear everyday and post it on the internet. There is no better way to force yourself out of your pajamas and into something nice (trust me).

After about 8 moths of posting pictures I realized what a phenomenal difference the blog was making in my life; my confidence was growing, my style was evolving, and most importantly, it re-connected me with my love of writing. Once I became dedicated to improving my photos and posting daily, the magic really started to happen!  I connected with a community of bloggers that were supportive and helping each other grow, got some freelance writing opportunities, and even saw positive impacts on my marketing business.

The biggest lesson that has come to me from blogging is; if you put yourself out there with  positive intent day after day, amazing things will happen. By letting my creative juices flow and really starting to write from the heart I've been able to attract work opportunities and paid writing jobs, something I couldn't even have dreamt of two years ago. The blog also gave me an excuse to start sewing again and a platform for showing off my work. Those many afternoons spent sewing have inspired me to go back to school this fall and start studying for my degree in Fashion Technology and Design, another lost dream that I had pretty much given up on before starting Pink Chai Style. Everyday I'm grateful for that random idea to start a blog that started this journey.

So that's the story of how my little blog has helped me grow so much in just one year! I'd love for you to leave a comment, and stop by and visit me on my blog where I share tips and tricks on stretching your current wardrobe, shopping your closet, and looking fabulous while chasing after your little ones! And thanks once again to Tiffany for introducing me to her wonderful readers.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Isn't she wonderful? I love all of the bright outfits that she puts together! And look at that gorgeous bag! I hope you'll stop by her blog and say hi! =)

Meet a Friend - Ashley!

Happy Monday!! As you are reading this, I'm helping pick the last jury that I'm ever going to pick! I can't wait to be teaching sweet kids instead of slaving away for attorneys. ;)  This beautiful (I'm assuming it's beautiful, anyways) Monday morning, I'd like to introduce you to Ashley!  Ashley is the incredibly cute and kind blogger behind Flats to Flip Flops.  She's a fashion blogger, like so many of my bloggy friends are, but she doesn't limit herself just to fashion. She also blogs about things that are important to her. I love her and am excited to introduce you to her! Without further ado, say hi to Ashley!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Hey there Breakfast with Tiffany readers!
My name is Ashley and I write a blog called flats to flip flops!

I write about fashion, faith and philanthropy.  Modest fashion, mommy moments, and giving back are the theme at my place!

And more importantly, I am a wife and momma to two sweet kiddos, a handsome and mischievous boy(age 4) and a sassy lady(who just turned 2..ahhhh!).  (Editor's note: We have like, twin families. Crazy!) So they definitely make an appearance on the blog!

I am also a self proclaimed diet coke and chocolate addict and in fact cannot think of any other better combo while stalking reading my favorite blogs!

My hubby and I also started a non profit earlier this year called The Hudson Foundation

Our mission is to help give HOPE to couples struggling with infertility.  We do this by raising funds for The Mission Hope Grant, which is awarded to a couple each year to help with infertility treatment costs.  You can check out our handmade jewelry and t-shirt line at our store!

That's pretty much me in a nutshell!  You can catch up with me on the Blog, on Twitter(if you want to know what I am doing constantly:) and Facebook!

Thanks Tiffany for letting me be apart of such a fun series!!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

If you don't already know Ashley, swing by her blog and say hi! You won't regret it! =)

Meet a Friend - Laura!

Hello girls! Good grief, the weekends seem to go by faster and faster these days! We're back to Monday again and I've got myself a big ole white chocolate mocha latte from Starbucks keeping me company while I work my fingers to the bone over here at the office. I do get a little reprieve from the daily grind, however, to introduce you to the adorably funny and incredibly sweet Laura from The Blog of Worldly Delights!  Say hi to Laura!

~~~~~~~
Firstly, I would like to thank the lovely Tiffany for asking me to write for this feature! I am so flattered!
Hi! My name is Laura and I blog over at the blog of worldly delights. I've always loved fashion, but I also believe in living within one's means. My aesthetic has evolved to combine both. My blog is my personal style diary where I share my geeky style and my thrifty finds.
I started blogging right before my last semester of grad school, when I would be immersed in writing my thesis. I thought that having a distraction would lessen the stress, and it did. I originally wanted to blog about fashion, food, books, comics, movies, and basically, everything worldly that I loved. But I couldn't stop posting about my outfits, and my blog quickly became an exploration of my personal style.
10 quick facts about moi:
1. I am a total comic book geek. I get upset when movies mess up on comic book characters or events.
2. I am really short. Like, barely five feet short. But I love maxi dresses or skirts. This is a big problem for me.
3. I have a Hello Kitty obsession. And, no thanks, I don't want your intervention.
4. People think I am a snob, but really, that's just how my face looks.
5. I have 3 kitties and I heart them to bits.
6. I am happily married and have been so for five years.
7. I have a shop (Shop of Worldly Delights) where I sell my cute, handmade goodies.
8. I probably watch too many movies for my own good.
9. I'm actually very shy, but people don't believe me when I say so.
10. I love dressing up in costume. If I didn't have to worry about looking professional/presentable to the public, I would go back to having bubblegum pink hair and wear comics-inspired outfits.
~~~~~~~

Isn't she adorable?!? Her style is so much fun! And she makes the cutest little bows and bookmarks and pins. Seriously, stop by her blog and look around a while! You'll be friends in no time. =)

While you're here, don't forget to enter my Road ID giveaway!! I'll be announcing a winner on Wednesday!

Meet a Friend - Melissa!

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you all had a glorious weekend and are ready to face whatever this week will throw at you. =) And my fingers are crossed that it only throws good things at you like chocolate milkshakes and skittles. Wait, I don't know that I'd want a chocolate milk shake thrown at me, per se. Maybe handed to me. Or passed my way. But not actually thrown at me. Okay, so I take it back. I won't be hoping that chocolate milkshakes get thrown at you. I'll just keep my fingers crossed that you have the kind of week that tastes like a chocolate milkshake! =)

Enough of me, already. It's Monday, so it's time for me to introduce you to the always lovely and chic, Melissa of All Things Chic! Rather than tell you what her blog is all about, I'll let her take it from here!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Hi, Chic Ladies! My name is Melissa Angert.

I’m so honored Tiffany asked me to be a part of her Meet a Friend Monday series! I’ve been blogging on my personal site, Girlymama, for 7 years and eventually my addiction to fashion magazines lead to my starting a mom fashion blog in 2010.  All Things Chic has grown to having 15 contributors who write on everything from fashion, beauty, travel, home dĂ©cor & entertaining. We've been featured in Women's Day, Parenting and People Style Watch as well as local tv and radio programs.

I wanted to start a fashion blog for the modern mom – moms who get snot wiped on their designer jeans, find wads of chewed gum in their new purse, leave the house with a princess sticker on their butt, hope no one notices they are still wearing a pajama top under their sweater or walk around for a whole day not realizing they have spit up down your back. This is fashion for real life. We’ve been there – and we’re trying to look stylish while we do it!

All Things Chic will keep you apprised of the latest trends, show you how to get those celebrity looks for less, and point you towards the best deals. We translate the looks you see in the magazines into accessible style for real life and bring you the latest, most stylish products for your family. I started the Chic Blogger Network in 2012 to help support the lovely fashion blogs I’ve discovered along my journey.

I live in Philadelphia with my husband, three kids, two cats and a bunny. (My daughter, Gracie, has inherited the fashion gene and serves as All Things Chic’s kids fashion contributor!) Our family loves biking, traveling and attempting home improvement projects that we have absolutely no business trying.

I hope you'll stop by and visit!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

You should definitely swing by All Things Chic and say hi! While you're at it, join the Chic Blogger Network. I've truly enjoyed being a part of that group!

Have you entered my giveaway for $100 to Monroe and Main yet??

Meet a Friend - Callie!

Happy Monday! It is a happy one, right?  I like to think that if you put yourself in the frame of mind that it's going to be a good Monday, rather than a dreary one, it will be! =)  You know what makes today an even better Monday? You get to meet the adorable Callie of Coffee and Cardigans!  Callie is just the cutest college student ever and she's incredibly sweet, too! Say hi to Callie!

* * * * * * *

Hello! I'm Callie from Coffee and Cardigans! I was so excited when Tiffany asked me guest post for Meet A Friend Monday. I love her blog and wonderful sense of style, so this is quite the honor to be sharing here at Breakfast with Tiffany.

4 7 12 a

I started Coffee and Cardigans about six months ago to document my day-to-day outfits, but it has quickly become my favorite hobby. And obsession. Seriously, I spend way too much time each day in the blogosphere. My little blog is dedicated to life and style on a college budget. I share outfit posts, sewing and DIY projects, and little bits and pieces of my daily life.

4 15 12 a

Right now, I am an undergraduate in college working towards a double major in journalism and public relations. And while I'm loving every minute of my college experience, it teaches you a thing or two about life on a budget. That means plenty of trips to local thrift stores and consignment shops. But I am a firm believe that style is possible on any budget. That's what Coffee and Cardigans is all about.

4 17 12 b

Blogging has given me the chance to really explore my personal style. I'm the girl who wears heels and skirts to class on a regular basis - call me crazy. I love dressing up. Blogging also challenges me to try new trends. Sheer tops? Shorts and heels? Neon? A year ago, I never would have guessed I could pull any of them off. And of course, blogging has also introduced me to some of the most supportive and sweet-hearted people I know. And unlike my family and friends, I don't think they give me funny looks for taking pictures of my clothing and posting them online.

5 6 12 b

Please don't be afraid to drop by Coffee and Cardigans to say hello! I always love new faces. A huge thank you to Tiffany for letting me share a little about my blog and experience!

* * * * * * *

Ha! I know what you mean, Callie!  I think my real life friends think I'm crazy (and probably a tiny bit self-absorbed) for photographing myself all the time. ;)  Head on over to Coffee and Cardigans and say hi!

Meet a Friend - Alicia

Happy Monday, bloggers, fashionistas, moms and blog-stalkers! ;) It's time to meet another friend who you're going to love! Today, I'd like you to meet Alica of Fashion By Alicia!

~~~~~~~
Hi Everyone!  I am Alicia from Fashion By Alicia.  I am so excited that Tiffany invited me to do a post for Meet A Friend.  I have discovered so many blogs this way.
Fashion By Alicia started in May 2011 as away to make myself get dressed and fight the time while being unemployed.  Since starting the blog, I have attended different fashion events, conferences, and met countless blogging friends.
When I started the blog, I took pictures in doors with my camera.  I have now pushed myself to take outdoor photos and be more creative in my looks.  I have moved cities (Jacksonville, Florida to Dallas, Texas) and even started a fitness regimen.
During the week, I display different outfits by showing a lot of remixes.  I don’t spend a lot of money on my wardrobe so being able to remix looks is a top priority.
On Tuesdays, I try to show a different tip or trend.  My most recent Trend Tuesday explored the mullet trend (I don’t mean the hair cut).  Although isn’t this cut fun?
Wednesday’s are dedicated to winning.  Each week I do a post dedicated to giveaways listing blog giveaways.  It is a lot of fun and there are a lot of fun giveaways.  I have even won a few of them listed!
Thursdays (in the fall) are dedicated to football season.  I create fun tailgating look to help support your team.  I am a college sports fan and try not to miss a game especially if it is my team!  Go Canes!
Tailgate Thursday - Miami
The second Friday of each month is dedicated to Fashionista Friday!  This post is about one thing and one thing only fashion!  Anyone can be a part of Fashionista Friday and it isn't theme oriented.  I find Fashionista Friday a great way to meet new bloggers or even readers.
I start a new job today so my outfit posts will be more business casual oriented that are budget friendly!
Thanks Tiffany for having me for Meet A Friend!  I hope you will come check out my blog.
~~~~~~~

How cute are those football fan looks?!? When I think of a football fan, I think of someone wearing their jersey and it cannot even compare to the cute looks Alicia puts together!  So, go drop by her blog and say hi!

Oh! One last thing, please do me a HUGE favor and drop by Monroe & Main's facebook page and vote for my shoe haiku! I'm #44 on Page 3. I have no idea where I'm ranked, so please keep voting once a day!! Thank you, my friends!! =)

Meet a Friend - Dossome & Kindallicious!

I'm excited to introduce you today to two of the cutest teachers I've met recenlty, Dossome & Kindallicious from Tale of 2 Teachers! Their names alone will probably have you running over to their blog to see what they're all about. When you get there, you'll find two incredibly cute, stylin' funny gals. I almost wish I could go back to 6th grade just so I could have these girls teach me!  Without further ado, meet Dossome & Kindallicious! =)

~~~~~~~
Let us start off by saying that we absolutely love Tiffany! She is so sweet and was one of the first people to follow us and show us love...and she has the cutest blog! Thanks for featuring us Tiff!
Tale of 2 Teachers was started just this year by the team teaching duo of Dossome and Kindallicious! Yes, we give ourselves dorky nicknames (although we often just go by D and K). Our little blog was started for a variety of reasons, we like fashion, we like fashion on a budget and we wanted to share our love of teacher fashion with the world. We loved each others outfits that we just had to share!
We keep it real here on a Tale of 2 Teachers, we act goofy, document the craziness that accompanies teaching and we keep track of our closets. We take pictures at the end of the school day, when we are exhausted and frazzled and we shop on a teacher's budget. Reoccurring themes on our blog are Kids say the Darndest Things, Fab Females and Man Children, book recommendations, kissy feet and sometimes we do jazz hands and have goofy poses.
Dossome-
6th grade English teacher, mother of two handsome boys and thrifting queen. Features fab jewelry, outrageous prints, amazing shoes and the best darn jazz hands you've ever seen.
Kindallicious-
6th grade English teacher and lover of all things vintage. Features her large collection of vintage inspired dresses, quirky prints, chunky jewelry and bright red hair (soon to change!).
We found so many great bloggers (including Tiffany) and we feel so lucky to get a chance to share our outfits with you all. We also love seeing and getting inspiration from other bloggers! Come visit us and be sure to leave your link so that we can come visit you! Thanks again to Tiffany for having us today :)
Aren't they great?? If you don't already know them, head on over to their their little corner of the blogosphere and say hi!
Meet a Friend Monday - Sarah!
Happy Memorial Day, friends!! What do you have planned for today?  We plan to talk with my Little Guy about the amazing men and women who have given their lives to protect our freedom and then we're going to make a patriotic chocolate pudding dessert. Next on the agenda is a day spent lounging around the kiddie pool. =)
Now, I'd like to introduce you to someone special! I met the adorable and stylin' Sarah of Coming Unstitched a while back and immediately loved her. She's down-to-earth, funny and cute. What's not to love?  Say hi to Sarah!
~~~~~~~

Hey everybody! I'm Sarah and I'm the girl behind Coming Unstitched. It's my little corner of the Interwebs where I talk about fashion- more specifically fashion advice, fashion inspiration and a bit of my personal style too. I know, I know, right now you're saying blah blah blah. So let's get to talking about the good stuff- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It's possible I have a minor obsession. One of my favorite gifts? When my fiance bought me the trilogy DVD pack. Yeah, he's a good egg (more on him later). Have you ever noticed how color coordinated those Turtles are? And who wouldn't want to be a ninja? (Side note: One of my nicknames is ninja. Even though I'm not sneaky, or athletic, or graceful.) My favorite is Raphael. Though I do love Michelangelo for his sense of humor. Who is your favorite?

Have I lost you? Are you wondering why Tiffany asked me to be here? It's ok, you can just smile and nod like most people do. Do you want to talk about my cat Batman (who is a girl, thankyouverymuch)? It's possible she's the Spawn of Satan but I really love her anyway. Most of the time. Sometimes. Like, when she isn't clawing my furniture or throwing up on my clothes. Wait, why do I keep her around? She sounds terrible. But she's really cute.

Ok fine, let's get on with the blog stuff. I started my blog back in August 2011. I can't believe I'm closing in on a year already. I started my blog after someone pressured me- I mean, told me nicely- that people would enjoy reading what I had to say. While I found that hard to believe since even my Fiance has a hard time listening to me, I did it anyway. And it's grown more than I ever imagined. The best thing about blogging is getting to meet some really amazing people- like Tiffany. The blog world is a surprisingly supportive one and I'm just glad to be one among millions. I like to share with my readers options for re-mixing their current wardrobe since we all aren't out spending $550 on a pair of jeans. And I've begun showing a lot more of my personal style. Even though I have to take my pictures. By myself. On my patio. With my iPhone.

Oh, and one other minor thing? Last October, this happened.

That guy was my boyfriend. That day he asked me to marry him so I said yes because he's really cute. And we're getting married in November. And then going to Italy for our honeymoon (yeah, he pretty much rocks as a fiance too). So sometimes I blog about that. And share some of my inspirations and introduce you to people in my wedding party. Mainly so that we can all be best friends. And isn't that what we want? A world full of best friends?

Come visit me on Coming Unstitched. Come like me on Facebook. Come follow me on Twitter. Come see my pins on Pinterest . And then check out all my cat photos on Instagram (@peanutsms). We'll be best friends in no time.

~~~~~~~
Yeah, so isn't she great? So, go stop by Coming Unstitched, say hi and see how fabulous she is!
Meet a Friend - Tiffany!
Today, you get to meet a blogger that I instantly adored as soon as I "met" her! I mean, how could I not? We share the same name! =) Meet Tiffany of The Coffeehouse!
Hi there. I’m Tiffany, husband is Dan and lab is Sherman. I blog over at The Coffeehouse, a blog that has absolutely nothing to do with coffee, although my best friend right now is {sadly} my brewbot. When Tiffany first asked me to come over and say hello to you guys (and after we both got over the weirdness that comes with having the same first name), I started to panic.
You see, I adore Tiffany and her lovely blog. But Tiffany blogs about style. Tiffany blogs about fashion. Tiffany posts pictures of herself in pretty little numbers.
I blog about my dog and bleep out his private parts.
Crap, I thought … we have nothing in common.
Her people are going to hate me.
Hmmm. And then it hit me.
We’re both cheap! (well, I never …)
What I mean is we’re both frugal. We’re both thrifty. The Thrifty Tiffany’s. Tiff, we should start a blog and call it The Thrifty Tiffs!
Ok, back on track.
So, I’m frugal. But how frugal am I really?
Well, I've been known to get pretty dang excited about condiment bars.
Free pickles. Free tomatoes. Free relish. Oh my!
I'm not embarrased to say that I buy the cheapest thing from the concession stand and then load up on free tomatoes and relish.
I have also been known to politely steal (yes, there is such a thing) doggy poop bags from our local parks.
This is something that I have tried to cut down on since husband found my poop bag stash. This was quite embarrassing and now I only take one every other day instead of every day.
Baby steps people.
And this brings us to our wedding.
Not exactly sure how poop bags brought us to our wedding, but they did.
Husband and I got married in Mexico. Yes, it was absolutely beautiful. But, it was also absolutely affordable.
Mexico is cheap. And so was my wedding dress.
Not to mention husband bought his suit from makeyourownjeans.com. I'm not kidding. His suit was shipped to us from India. I was in frugal heaven.
I could tell you about 297 more frugal stories, like that one time in grad school when I bought so many hotpockets with coupons that the grocery store had to actually pay me. That's right, I was smarter than those dang coupons and somehow I ended up earning money while getting hotpockets for free.
But, that's another story for another day.
Until then, I sure hope to see you over in our neck of the woods.
Keep saving those pennies.
Or, throw them on the ground and I will pick them up.
Tiff
Ha!! Do you see why I love her? She makes me laugh every time I drop by her blog! So head on over and see what kind of funny stuff she's got for us today. =)
Meet a Friend - Tracy!
Y'all thought Meet a Friend Monday was gone forever, didn't you? But it's not!! Over the past few weeks, I've been working my magic to line up guest posts and it's back, baby! Today, I have the pleasure of introducing you to Tracy of The Closet Shopper.  Tracy is sweet and gorgeous and has fantastic style! Without further ado, meet Tracy!
A Maxi For the Not So Maxi
Hi everyone. My name is Tracy from The Closet Shopper.  Tiffany graciously invited me to deliver a guest post for her. I'm so honored. I think Tiffany has great style. But it's her personality that made me fall in love with her.  She's just so darned nice! Don't you love her?
I thought I would tackle a subject that comes up quite a bit for short women.  And that is maxi dresses and maxi skirts. Is it possible for a short person to make a maxi work?  YES. I'm here to tell you that you can absolutely wear a maxi dress if you're short.  I'm 5'2" and I wear maxi dresses and skirts all the time.
I understand that sometimes a maxi might not work "off the rack." So, here are a few tips on how to handle that.
1.  Wear super big chunky high heels. This one is the obvious solution.
2. Tie a knot in the front or side to shorten it.
3.  Hem it. Not that hard, really.  And you can either do it yourself or take it to your local tailor.
4.  Buy petite.  You might have to go a size up but the length will be more manageable.
5.  Just do it! Don't let the length scare you. Be a proud shorty!
I hope I've inspired all the short ladies in the house to wear long flowy frocks.
Thank you, Tracy!! I only have a few maxi dresses, but now I want more!  Now that you've had a chance to meet Tracy and chat with her a bit, y'all go drop by her blog and say hi! =)
Meet a Friend - Cara
It's Monday!! And you know what that means... another dull day at the office, right?  Wait, no!! That means it's time to meet another of my friends and today I'm introducing you to Cara of Cara's Closet!  Everyone, say hello to Cara!
(Awkward wave) Hi! You would think that after 3 years at Cara’s Closet, 2 years as a newspaper columnist and a number of years at another blog before that, I would be comfortable addressing countless computer screens with anonymous faces on the other side of them. Of course, I am having the exact same awkward writer’s block as I am trying to write the biographical blurb that is now apparently required for my 10 year high school reunion, and I went through a decade of school with those same people.
Cara’s Closet started as an opportunity to get out of my hoodies and jeans in a town that basically requires them. As I’ve moved, the purpose of my blog has, too. As I went through my Masters course work, it was a fun activity for my weary brain at the end of the day. As I wrote my thesis, it propelled me to get dressed – at least a couple days a week. Now that I’m working full-time, and floundering a bit with adjusting to this new phase in life, I’m using it as a way to explore who I am, outside of "student" or "copywriter" or any other job title I might pick up over the next short while (I seem to collect careers like I collect degrees – I think I’m at 3 of each, and I’m not even 30 yet).
So who am I? I could continue to list titles: wife, aunt, sister, daughter, knitter, armchair athlete, pseudo-nutritionist, but they don’t describe who I am, merely what I do. My posts let me showcase these activities, but mix in some personality along the way. The best way to find out who I am? Stop by my blog!
I don’t claim to appeal to everyone, everyday of the week. And for that reason, I’ll let you in on the secret to my closet!
Mondays I discuss organization.
Tuesdays and Thursdays, I go back to my roots and post outfit pictures.
Wednesdays I discuss fitness and nutrition.
Fridays highlight projects I’ve completed.
And finally Saturdays are photographic reviews of my week.
Whether you want to find out how to organize all your video game system peripherals, hear me complain about the negative effects of working in a shoeless office on my wardrobe choices, discover how lazy I pretend not to be, get tangential reviews of books I’ve read, look at over-processed photos of random small city haunts, or wander with me on my journey of self-discovery, feel free to join me at Cara’s Closet!
Ooh, I ccould always use a few tips on organization!! ;)  And how cute is that top she's wearing with those adorable cowboy boots??  If you agree OR you just need something to do this fine Monday morning, go visit Cara's Closet and say make a new friend! =)
